What exactly is BlabTab?

BlabTab is a community publishing platform where writers share articles and readers discover ideas, useful information and different perspectives. Writers can build public profiles without running their own website. Start at About BlabTab or Explore.

Accounts & profiles

Signing up, account safety, passwords and your public presence.

10 answers
How do I create an account?

Select Create account, complete registration and follow the email-verification instructions. After verification, sign in to review your account and writing options.

Link to this answer
Why must I verify my email address?

Verification helps protect your account, supports recovery and is required for normal member features. Check your spam folder if the message is missing and use the available resend option.

Link to this answer
I did not receive a verification email. What should I do?

Check the address you registered, your spam or junk folders and the resend option shown after sign-in. If it still does not arrive, use Contact and include the email address involved, but never your password.

Link to this answer
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Open Forgot password and follow the emailed reset instructions. Reset links expire for security; you can request another if needed.

Link to this answer
Can I change my profile information or photograph?

Yes. After signing in, visit Edit profile to update supported public details and your avatar. The account area contains other available account settings.

Link to this answer
Which parts of my profile are public?

Your published writer profile and articles can be viewed publicly. Private account, security, billing and support information is not intended to appear in your public author profile. Review your published profile and the Privacy Policy.

Link to this answer
Can I have a reader account without paying for a writing membership?

Yes. Reading public articles is free. An account gives access to eligible community features; paid membership is for the specified writing and publishing allowances.

Link to this answer
How do I keep my account secure?

Use a unique password, keep access to your registered email secure and do not share login or private purchase links. Contact support@blabtab.co.za if you suspect unauthorised access.

Link to this answer
Can I delete my BlabTab account?

Yes. Signed-in users can begin the deletion process in Account deletion. Read the confirmation carefully: deletion can be permanent and may affect profiles and articles. Necessary purchase, audit or legal records may be retained under the Privacy Policy.

Link to this answer
If I close my account, do I lose my existing purchases?

Deleting an account revokes its normal login and linked Shop download access. Necessary purchase records may be retained for lawful purposes and verified record requests, but account deletion does not automatically restore files or reopen downloads. Save your purchased files and records first.

Reading & community

Finding stories, liking, commenting, saving and following writers.

9 answers
How do I discover articles I care about?

Browse Explore, Categories, Authors, or use Search for relevant words and topics.

Link to this answer
Can I like an article without registering?

Yes. Visitors can like supported public articles. BlabTab uses a browser identifier to recognise a previous like; clearing browser storage can affect recognition.

Link to this answer
Can I save an article to read later?

Yes, when signed in and the saved-articles feature is available. Use the article’s save action and revisit Saved Articles.

Link to this answer
Can I follow an author?

Yes. Signed-in members can follow eligible writers using the follow action on their public profile. You can change your follow status later.

Link to this answer
Can I leave comments?

Eligible signed-in members can comment on published articles. Comments must follow community rules and may be held for moderation rather than appearing immediately.

Link to this answer
Can I share an article with someone else?

Yes. You can share the public article URL, provided the article is published and accessible. Do not distribute private preview, administrative or purchase-access links.

Link to this answer
Why did a comment or like disappear?

A comment may be awaiting moderation, may have been removed under community rules, or the article may no longer be available. Visitor-like recognition can also change if browser identifiers are cleared. Contact support if you believe there is an error.

Link to this answer
How do I report an article or comment?

Use the reporting controls available to signed-in members on eligible content, or provide the public URL and a concise explanation through Contact. Do not republish sensitive information in a report.

Link to this answer
Do readers get paid for liking, saving or commenting?

No. These are community features, not a rewards or earnings programme. BlabTab does not promise payments for reading or engagement.

Writing & publishing

From first draft to editorial review and live publication.

14 answers
Who can submit an article?

A verified account with active publishing eligibility and a suitable submission allowance can submit articles. Check your eligibility under Membership and read the Writing Guide.

Link to this answer
Where do I write and edit my articles?

Use Article Studio to create a draft, add a title and content, choose a category, add images where permitted and prepare the article for review.

Link to this answer
Can I save an article without publishing it?

Yes. Drafts are private until you take the supported submission steps; saving a draft is not publication and does not use a submission allowance.

Link to this answer
Does every article appear immediately after submission?

No. Submitted articles enter editorial review. They may be approved for publication, returned for changes or rejected according to the relevant review rules.

Link to this answer
What happens after I submit?

You can track the article’s status and editorial feedback under My Articles. Review timing can vary; BlabTab does not guarantee a fixed turnaround.

Link to this answer
What if an editor asks me to revise an article?

Read the feedback, edit the eligible article, and resubmit it from your writer workspace. A resubmission of the same eligible article after requested changes does not consume another submission.

Link to this answer
What if my article is rejected?

Read the available feedback and the review guidelines. A rejected submission is not an automatic entitlement to publication. You can ask support about an unclear decision.

Link to this answer
Can I edit or remove my own articles?

Available edit, preview and delete actions depend on the article’s current status and permissions. Use My Articles to see the actions for each draft or submission. For a published-content concern, contact support.

Link to this answer
Can I use headings, links and images in my article?

Article Studio provides supported formatting and image options. Uploaded files and content are validated for safety. Use content you own or have permission to publish, and follow the current on-screen upload requirements.

Link to this answer
How do I choose a topic, category or tags?

Select an appropriate category in Article Studio and add relevant tags. If a useful category is missing, eligible signed-in members can suggest a category for review.

Link to this answer
Can I write using AI tools?

AI-assisted drafting is subject to the Code of Conduct. You remain responsible for originality, accuracy, proper attribution, permissions and suitability. Editorial review still applies.

Link to this answer
Who owns articles I publish on BlabTab?

You retain ownership of original material you lawfully contribute. BlabTab receives the permissions needed to host, display, review and operate the platform under the Terms; this is not a transfer of your copyright.

Link to this answer
Can I publish someone else’s article or a copied image?

Only if you have the appropriate rights or permission. Do not publish plagiarism, images without usable permission, private information without lawful authority or misleading material.

Link to this answer
Will BlabTab pay me for articles or guarantee an audience?

A writing membership buys the stated publishing eligibility and features, not a guaranteed salary, article income, traffic, search ranking or publication approval. BlabTab does not currently promise pay-per-view earnings.

SEO & writer tools

Practical features that help you prepare and manage an article.

5 answers
Does BlabTab offer SEO settings for articles?

Yes. Article Studio includes supported fields for SEO title, description and focus keyword, together with guidance. They help you prepare a page but do not guarantee search-engine rankings.

Link to this answer
Can I preview an article before submitting?

Yes. Your writer workspace provides a private preview for eligible draft and review states so you can check formatting before submitting.

Link to this answer
Can I see how my articles are performing?

Eligible signed-in writers can use the Analytics area for the available performance information. Measurements may be limited and are not a promise of audience growth or revenue.

Link to this answer
What is the Writing Guide?

The Writing Guide explains the process from registration and verification through drafting, SEO preparation, review and publication.

Link to this answer
Can I manage multiple articles?

Yes. My Articles shows your saved work and eligible review states, including the actions you may take on each article.

Memberships & allowances

Trial eligibility, current plans and submission limits.

11 answers
Do I need to pay to register or read articles?

No. Registration and reading public articles do not require a paid writing plan. A membership is for the stated publishing eligibility and allowances.

Link to this answer
Is there a free trial?

Eligible accounts can start a one-time 5-day Free Trial with 3 submissions. Check your Membership page for eligibility and the available action.

Link to this answer
How much is Starter Monthly?

The current new-purchase Starter Monthly offer is R49 for 30 days with 10 eligible article submissions. Check Pricing and the final checkout for the offer you are purchasing.

Link to this answer
How much is Master Monthly?

The current new-purchase Master Monthly offer is R99 for 30 days with 15 eligible article submissions.

Link to this answer
What does Premium Yearly include?

The current new-purchase Premium Yearly offer is R4,650 for 365 days and 30 submissions per membership month. Unused allowance does not roll over (no rollover).

Link to this answer
When does Premium Yearly’s monthly allowance reset?

The allowance window follows the membership’s original start-date anniversary, using the last available day of shorter months where necessary. Your Membership area shows the current window and next reset.

Link to this answer
What is Forever Unlimited?

The current new-purchase Forever Unlimited offer costs R20,000 once off. It removes the numerical eligible-submission limit while BlabTab operates and provides the relevant service. Editorial rules, account status and technical safeguards still apply; it is not a promise that the service will exist forever.

Link to this answer
What counts against an article submission allowance?

Submitting an eligible new article for editorial review uses an allowance. Saving or editing drafts does not. Resubmitting the same eligible article after a request for changes does not use a second submission.

Link to this answer
What happens when I use all my submissions?

You cannot make additional eligible new submissions until your current allowance renews, a new eligible membership period begins, or another applicable plan change takes effect. Existing articles and drafts are not automatically deleted.

Link to this answer
Can I have different membership periods scheduled?

A later once-off membership purchase may create a future period instead of replacing already-paid time. The Membership page shows your current entitlement and scheduled access where applicable.

Link to this answer
What if I bought a plan before the prices changed?

Earlier valid purchases retain the prices, durations and allowances recorded with those membership periods. New offer terms do not silently rewrite an existing entitlement.

Link to this answer

Billing, PayFast & refunds

Payment security, recurring plans, cancellations and receipts.

10 answers
How are memberships and Shop payments processed?

BlabTab uses PayFast for supported checkout flows. The final review displays the amount before you proceed. BlabTab validates payment confirmation before enabling paid publishing access or purchased downloads.

Link to this answer
How can I tell whether a payment is a test or a real purchase?

A Sandbox test checkout is explicitly labelled and collects no real money. Only an operator-enabled, explicitly marked live checkout can collect an actual payment. The staging website remains in sandbox.

Link to this answer
Are all plans automatically recurring?

No. Once-off purchases do not silently become subscriptions. Optional auto-renew is a separate choice for eligible monthly memberships; annual, Forever and digital Shop products use once-off payments under the current offers.

Link to this answer
How do I stop monthly automatic renewal?

Sign in and use the billing controls under Membership or contact support. Cancellation of auto-renew stops future automatic attempts once confirmed; already-paid access normally continues through its paid-through date, subject to applicable rules.

Link to this answer
Will a failed payment delete my articles or account?

No. Ordinary failure or expiry can pause new paid submissions, but your account, drafts, uploads, profile and published work are not automatically deleted solely for that reason.

Link to this answer
My payment is pending. Should I pay again?

Not immediately. Return to the existing order or membership payment page and check its status. The browser returning from PayFast does not by itself confirm payment. If your bank was charged but the order stays pending, contact support with the reference.

Link to this answer
I may have paid twice. What should I do?

Contact support@blabtab.co.za with the relevant references and dates. Confirmed duplicate payments and billing errors are reviewed and corrected; do not disclose passwords or card-security codes.

Link to this answer
How do refunds and cooling-off rights work?

BlabTab honours refunds required by law and corrects confirmed duplicate charges and billing errors. Other requests are considered individually. Applicable cooling-off, cancellation and quality rights are explained in the Payment Terms.

Link to this answer
Are prices in rand and do you charge VAT?

Prices are displayed in South African rand (ZAR). BlabTab is operated by a non-VAT-registered sole proprietor and does not charge VAT. An order confirmation is not a VAT invoice.

Link to this answer
Where can I find my receipt or purchase record?

Keep your transaction email and order reference. Signed-in Shop buyers can use My Shop orders; eligible guest buyers can use Guest order access. Verified requests for retained records can also be directed to support.

Digital Shop & downloads

Digital products, cart, files, licences and order recovery.

19 answers
What kinds of products are in the Shop?

The Shop includes writing resources, article templates, prompt collections, planning workbooks, a journaling pack and the BlabTab Signature Wallpaper Collection. Available products and prices are listed on their individual pages.

Link to this answer
Do I need a membership to buy digital products?

No. An eligible digital product can be ordered without a publishing membership. A Shop purchase does not add article submissions or start a membership.

Link to this answer
Can I buy as a guest?

Yes. Guest digital checkout uses the purchaser’s name and a working email address for order confirmation and recovery. A guest order is not automatically linked to a later account simply because its email matches.

Link to this answer
How do I add several items to my cart?

Use Add to cart on the Shop grid or product page. The right-hand cart drawer displays the selected resources, totals and remove controls. Each digital item is a one-copy licence; clicking it again does not create another copy.

Link to this answer
Can I preview a resource before ordering?

Many digital product pages provide sample files and format/requirements information. Open the product page and review its description, preview, licence and price before placing an order.

Link to this answer
What file formats are included?

Formats depend on the exact product edition. Downloads may include PDF, DOCX, XLSX, JPG and other listed resource files, usually supplied in a ZIP. The product description and final order review explain what you will receive.

Link to this answer
Do I need special software to use the files?

You need compatible apps for the formats in your chosen product: for example a PDF reader for PDFs, office-compatible software for DOCX and XLSX, and an image viewer for wallpapers. Check the product’s software notes before checkout.

Link to this answer
Are all PDFs fillable?

No. Most PDFs are intended for reading or printing. The Digital Journaling Pack includes a separate fillable PDF; saving entered text depends on the viewer you use. Test saving and reopening a copy.

Link to this answer
When do my downloads unlock?

Only after BlabTab has verified the payment provider’s server-to-server notification for the correct order. Returning from a checkout page alone is not proof of payment.

Link to this answer
Why is my paid order still marked Pending?

Payment notifications can be delayed. Refresh the existing order’s status and check email. If the charge is confirmed but access stays pending, contact support with the order reference rather than starting multiple new payments.

Link to this answer
How do I return to a guest order?

Use the private link sent to your purchase email or request a new one through Guest order access using the order reference and purchase email. Keep those details secure.

Link to this answer
What if a download link has expired?

Download and order-access links are time-limited for security. Open an eligible paid order to request a new download link, or use Guest order access to regain entry to a guest order.

Link to this answer
Can I download a purchased product again later?

Repeat downloads are available while the purchased edition remains retained and access is authorised. Keep a local backup of your files. Temporary link expiry does not itself erase your purchase; repeat hosting is not promised forever.

Link to this answer
Will a product update change what I purchased?

No. BlabTab records the purchased file edition and licence with the order. An updated catalogue listing does not silently replace your original purchased edition or automatically grant later editions.

Link to this answer
What is in the Wallpaper Collection?

The BlabTab Signature Wallpaper Collection Edition 3.0 contains 16 designs and 48 JPG wallpapers adapted for desktop, laptop and mobile. The product licence is for personal device backgrounds only; it does not grant permission to resell the images or use them as website, client or merchandise artwork.

Link to this answer
Can I share, redistribute or resell my digital files?

Not unless the exact product licence expressly permits it. Writing resources generally license the listed use by one user, not redistribution of blank templates; wallpapers are for personal device backgrounds. Review each licence before purchase.

Link to this answer
What should I do if a ZIP will not extract or a file looks damaged?

Download the file again through your eligible order, check the listed software and try extracting the ZIP before opening its contents. If it still fails, email support@blabtab.co.za with the order reference, product edition, device and error message.

Link to this answer
Do digital products have delivery charges?

No physical courier is required for digital-only purchases. The final order review shows the amount payable and any applicable charges before checkout.

Link to this answer
Can I request a copy of an older purchase record?

Yes. Request a retained transaction record from support@blabtab.co.za. Ownership verification is required; obtaining a transaction record is separate from recovering an expired download or reopening a deleted account.

Link to this answer

Merchandise & coming soon

Branded physical products and future availability.

4 answers
Can I buy a BlabTab T-shirt, cap or mug now?

No. Physical products remain Coming soon. They cannot enter checkout and cannot be pre-ordered or prepaid at this stage.

Link to this answer
Are the merchandise images final product photographs?

The current images are branded product mockups. Final colours, sizes, specifications and availability must be confirmed before an item is offered for sale.

Link to this answer
When will physical merchandise launch?

There is no confirmed public launch date. Availability, pricing, stock and product details will be announced when the physical range is ready.

Link to this answer
Will you ship physical products internationally?

Delivery options and costs have not been finalised. Initial physical delivery planning is focused on South Africa; do not assume international shipping until an offer explicitly includes it.

Safety, reports & moderation

Rules, fair review, prohibited content and appeals.

9 answers
Why does BlabTab review articles?

Review supports publishing quality, originality and community safety. It is not a factual certification or a guarantee that every error will be identified. Read Why we review articles.

Link to this answer
What content is not allowed?

The Code of Conduct prohibits harassment, threats, scams, unlawful exploitation, malicious material, violations of privacy, plagiarism and other seriously harmful or unlawful content.

Link to this answer
Are writers responsible for the accuracy of their articles?

Yes. Contributors remain responsible for accuracy, originality, lawful sources, permissions and their own claims. Editorial approval does not transfer that responsibility to BlabTab.

Link to this answer
What happens when someone is reported?

A report is assessed in context and is not proof of a violation. Staff may restrict content, request corrections, issue warnings or take other proportionate measures under the applicable rules.

Link to this answer
Can I appeal a moderation decision?

You can ask support@blabtab.co.za to review a decision, supplying the decision reference and reasons. An independent reviewer may be used where reasonably practical; privacy and safety considerations can limit what evidence is disclosed.

Link to this answer
Does receiving three warnings automatically ban me?

No. Enforcement depends on severity, evidence and history. Three warnings are not an automatic ban; serious conduct may require immediate action.

Link to this answer
What happens to unrelated articles during a temporary ban?

Temporary restrictions target the account and identified offending content. Unrelated articles are not automatically purged solely because a temporary ban has been imposed.

Link to this answer
Can someone abuse the reporting system to target a writer?

Knowingly false or coordinated malicious reports are themselves prohibited. Good-faith reports and ordinary disagreements are not penalised simply because a violation is not established.

Link to this answer
How can I raise a copyright or privacy complaint?

Use the reporting controls or Contact with the public URL and a concise explanation. For personal-information rights, use Privacy request or privacy@blabtab.co.za.

Privacy, cookies & records

Your data, consent choices and purchase-record protections.

9 answers
What personal information does BlabTab collect?

Information needed for accounts, profiles, articles, community actions, payments, orders, support and security. The Privacy Policy describes the categories and purposes.

Link to this answer
Does BlabTab store my full card number?

No. Card details entered on PayFast are handled by the payment provider. BlabTab records payment references and order information needed to verify and service the transaction.

Link to this answer
Which company hosts BlabTab?

Website and email hosting are provided through Xneelo. Other providers, including PayFast and consented analytics, may process information for their own specific purposes. Read Privacy for details.

Link to this answer
Can I reject analytics cookies and still use BlabTab?

Yes. Essential sessions and security storage support account and Shop functions. Optional analytics is controlled through Cookie preferences; rejecting it should not block essential features.

Link to this answer
How do visitor likes work without an account?

After a visitor deliberately likes an article, BlabTab can store a signed browser identifier and a derived server-side value to recognise like/remove actions. See the Cookie Policy.

Link to this answer
Can I request access to, correction of or deletion of my data?

Yes, subject to applicable law. Use the verified Privacy request workflow or email privacy@blabtab.co.za. Reasonable identity checks may be necessary.

Link to this answer
What happens to transaction records if an account is deleted?

Normal account login and Shop links are revoked. Necessary paid transaction evidence may be retained with protected ownership-verification information for lawful record requests. A verified record request does not reactivate a deleted account or its downloads.

Link to this answer
How long do I have access to purchase records?

Purchase records and required retention are addressed by the Payment Terms and Privacy Policy. You can save or print the order record and request retained copies from support after ownership checks. Temporary download-link expiry is separate.

Link to this answer
Who do I contact about a privacy concern?

Email privacy@blabtab.co.za or open Privacy request. You may also contact the South African Information Regulator through its official channels.

Advertising & partnerships

Campaign enquiries and brand opportunities.

5 answers
Can a business advertise on BlabTab?

Businesses can enquire about managed advertising opportunities through Advertise. The team reviews suitability and available placements before any campaign is agreed.

Link to this answer
What advertising placements are available?

Potential formats include homepage visibility, article-page placements, category sponsorship and selected communication opportunities, subject to actual availability and a confirmed agreement.

Link to this answer
Can I book and pay for advertising instantly online?

No. Advertising is currently enquiry-led and managed. Submitting the form is not a purchase or an automatically approved campaign.

Link to this answer
Are sponsored articles or promotions identified?

Paid promotions should be clearly identified and must meet applicable legal and community standards. Payment does not guarantee editorial endorsement.

Link to this answer
Does BlabTab guarantee impressions, traffic or results?

No. Campaign scope, delivery and reporting terms are agreed individually. The website does not guarantee impressions, leads, sales or commercial results just because an enquiry is submitted.
